Soapbox for a midget Aussie

Those white stripes are there for a reason

Imagine if you will a very busy main street in a metropolitan area or at the very least in the centre of what passes to be a city wherever you live.

Now picture lots of cars zooming down the street. There are no traffic lights on this section of the road so the flow of traffic is highly unlikely to cease any time soon.

Now picture a pedestrian crossing about 10m away from where you are standing.

Now think about crossing from one side of the road to the other.

Do you:

A) Walk 10m to the pedestrian crossing and cross the road safely;

B) Attempt to cross where you are and almost get hit by a car because you stepped out from behind a tree, large sign or from behind a bus;

C) Attempt to cross from where you are standing and head diagonally across the road towards the pedestrian crossing, again almost being hit by cars;

D) Stand idly by the side of the road for 10 minutes swearing at all the drivers who have the temerity to block your path?

If you picked anything that wasn't A then you deserve to be hit by a car.
